On April 28, former Dallas Cowboys player, Isaiah Stanback went to Argyle ISD High School and gave a motivational speech to the students.

Stanback was raised in a single parent household located in a less than favorable neighborhood. He was always very athletic as a child, but became interested in football at the age of 13.

When he finished high school, Stanback accepted a full scholarship from the University of Washington where he participated in Baseball, Track and Football. He entered the 2007 draft and was picked up in the 4th round by the Dallas Cowboys. While playing for the Dallas cowboys he suffered 3 injuries and underwent 3 surgeries, and was able to recover from these completely.

He has had an amazing career in football throughout the years, but apart from that, he is a MBA graduate of the George Washington University School of Business.

Students were grateful Stanback was able to share his motivational story with them and inspired them to never give up and always try to improve.

Argyle high school student, Claire Betzhold, talked to the student body before Stanback took the stage about the Shoot For The Stars Event this Saturday, May 9th. She encouraged students to attend this event to honor her brother’s, Alex Betzhold, memory, who passed unexpectedly in his sleep in 2012.
